Can I purchase from your website from outside the U.S.?
We currently don’t ship outside of the USA, but you can check with our many distributors or find a retailer here.
What do IPX ratings mean?
Our IPX ratings denote the level of water resistance each of our lights have. Here’s a complete breakdown of the IPX ratings associated with our products and dive lights:
- IPX4: Protected against splashing water and light rain.
- IPX6: Protected against high pressure water and heavy rain.
- IPX7: Withstands complete submersion in water up to 1 meter in depth for up to 30 minutes.
- IPX8: Withstands complete and continuous submersion in water in depths greater than 1 meter.

Why won’t my light turn on?
If you’ve already swapped batteries/ensured a full charge, be sure your light hasn’t been “locked out.” Some of our lights feature a lockout to avoid accidental activation. See your products’ manuals here to review how to deactivate the lockout. If this doesn’t help, reach out to our customer service team at questions@princetontec.com.
WARRANTY
To file a warranty claim for your Princeton Tec product, please click here for our Warranty Support form. If you cannot use this form, feel free to email ( support@princetontec.com) or call ( 1-800-257-9080) our Customer Service team for assistance.
- If we determine that your light needs to be sent back to us for repairs or replacement, we will give you a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Note: no warranty work can be completed without first obtaining an RMA number from Princeton Tec. (Sorry!)
- Once you receive your RMA number, ship the defective product back to Princeton Tec at the address provided.
- If possible, we will repair the light. Otherwise, we will replace your light with an identical product or, if the product is no longer available, a comparable product. We will then ship the repaired or replaced light back to you. Average turnaround times during non-peak seasons are 2-3 weeks. Our Customer Service team is located at Princeton Tec HQ, live and in person, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am through 5 pm (EST).

Built for the mission. Backed for life. We design our products for real-world use. Every material, component, and design detail is selected with durability and performance in mind. Because of that commitment, we proudly stand behind our gear with the following Lifetime Warranty:
- If your product fails due to defects in materials or workmanship, we will repair or replace it. No runarounds. No excuses. It shouldn’t have failed and we’ll make it right.
This warranty reflects our confidence in our design, our manufacturing standards, and the people who rely on our products when failure is not an option.
What This Warranty Covers
- Defects in materials
- Defects in workmanship
- Structural or functional failures under normal and intended use This warranty only applies to the original owner and requires proof of purchase.
What This Warranty Does Not Cover
This warranty does not cover defects, damage, performance issues or deterioration related to:
- Normal wear and tear
- Batteries or other third-party components
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect performance
- Operator error, misuse, improper storage or maintenance, abuse, neglect, recklessness, or unauthorized modification or repairs
- Accidents, fire, chemicals, other hazardous materials or environmental exposure beyond intended use.
We build gear to be used, but not abused. The only charge to the customer will be $4.99 to cover the cost of shipping the product for repair or replacement. International shipping rates will vary.
Mission Failure Replacement Policy
When the mission matters, failure is not acceptable. If one of our products fails during active use in a real-world operational environment, and that failure directly compromises performance, we will replace the product. This applies regardless of whether the failure was caused by extreme conditions, heavy use, or circumstances beyond standard wear.
How It Works
- Submit the defective product along with a brief description of the context of the failure
- If the defect is confirmed, we will issue a no-cost replacement or equivalent product
- In some cases, we may evaluate the product to improve future designs
Important Notes
- This policy is not intended to encourage reckless use or deliberate destruction
- Damage caused intentionally or recklessly will be excluded from the policy
- This replacement policy only applies to the product and does not cover secondary or indirect losses, damages, injuries, or mission outcomes
Why We Offer This
- We don’t test our gear in ideal conditions. We design for worst-case scenarios.
- If our product becomes the weak link, we fix it.

TESTING
Light Output
Light Output is the total luminous flux. It is the total quantity of emitted overall light energy as measured by integrating the entire angular output of the portable light source. Light output in this standard is expressed in units of lumens.
Beam Distance
Beam distance is defined as the distance from the device at which the light beam is 0.25 lux. (0.25 lux is approximately the equivalent of the light emitted from the full moon “on a clear night in an open field”).
Run Time
Runtime is defined as the duration of time from the initial output value—defined as 30 seconds after the point the device is first turned on—using fresh batteries, until the light output reaches 10% of the initial value.
Regulated LED
Some Princeton Tec lights feature regulated circuitry that maintains initial brightness as long as the batteries have sufficient voltage. Traditional lights are very bright initially, but begin to dim immediately and continue to dim until the batteries are drained. Constant Brightness is a term used to describe products that have regulated LEDs.
Reserve Time
Reserve Time is the duration of time from 10% of initial light output value down to 0.25 lux.
